Since the surface has no protective coating, aniline leather is very soft and supple, but also more sensitive to stains and sun fading.
Tärnsjö is a semi-aniline leather which we also offer as an option on our furniture. Semi aniline leather is a type of leather where the surface has been treated with a thin protective coating. The coating provides a small degree of protection against stains and wear, but the natural structure and pattern of the leather can still be seen. Semi-aniline leather is also soft and supple, but not as delicate as aniline leather.
