The 9th of September is the official Miss Holly Day at Stolab. The date that is on the first sketch we got from the designer Jonas Lindvall. A modern stick-back chair was born and Stolab had a new classic.
In celebration of Miss Hollyday, here is the story of Miss Holly
Today we celebrate the 10th birthday of Miss Holly! In the late winter/early spring of 2010, we contacted the designer Jonas Lindvall with a short brief - to create a new stick back chair. The challenge was to create something modern and unlike Lilla Åland, but with a classic Stolab feel. In June of the same year, Jonas visited our factory in Smålandsstenar in Sweden to see our production and look through our archive. Three months later, Jonas returned to present his sketch. The sketch was dated 100909 - 10th September 2010, which we now celebrate as the official birthday of Miss Holly.
Many ask about the origin of the name. Why Miss Holly? Well, with its strong, feminine lines and classic mid-century feel, we decided to name it after Audrey Hepburn's iconic character, Holly Golightly in the 1961 cult movie Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Happy birthday Miss Holly and thank you Jonas Lindvall for one of many fantastic designs and collaborations.
